ix Professor John Lee Chi-Kin , Vice President (Academic) and Provost and Chair Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, joined The Education University of Hong Kong (the then Hong Kong Institute of Education) in 2010. His research interests focus on curriculum and instruction, geographical and environmental education, and school improvement. He is active in leading and securing education research and development projects and has a solid track record in securing external grants. Professor Lee is also the UNESCO Chair in Regional Education Development and Lifelong Learning, The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Research Fellow, Director of the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education, Co- Director (Research) of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching and Co-Director of the Centre for Education in Environmental Sustainability at EdUHK. Dr. Sumitra Nair is the Senior Vice President & Head of Strategy and Policy at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). She currently leads MDEC’s corporate strategy, planning, policy advocacy, and ESG agenda. Sumitra’s career spans a range of management domains such as Strategy Development, Project Management, Business Development and Partnerships, Government Relations, Public Affairs, Talent Development and ESG, primarily in digital economy-related sectors. In her previous roles at MDEC, Dr. Sumitra built and led several high-performing teams to initiate, establish and scale socio-economic development programmes that has impacted more than 2 million Malaysians. Sumitra holds a PhD in Business & Economics from Monash University. Her most important role is being a mother of two digital natives. Keynote Speakers
